First ASEFUAN Dialogue on Climate Change,
Barcelona & Madrid, Spain, 24 - 27 November 2009
Outcome
Beyond achieving the traditional ASEFUAN goals of increased mutual understanding and intellectual development, ASEFUAN Dialogues Barcelona & Madrid has set forth 3 key outcomes to be achieved by the end of the conference. The aim of the outcomes is to help participants frame the input they give and receive during presentations and workshops. Additionally, the production of tangible materials during the workshop will be used to aid future reflection, presentation and dissemination of the knowledge and ideas generated during the event.
The outcomes can be described as follows:
- Outcome 1
A website which will present documents produced by participants during the workshops and which will host pre-conference online discussions. - Outcome 2
A catalogue of projects and initiatives identified by participants. Such projects should be those which currently contribute in a positive way to the areas of interest of the conference including sustainable development, the fight against climate change and clean energies in a global, specifically Asia-European, context. The catalogue will be posted on the website as an awareness building tool. Additional uses for the catalogue materials such as new cooperative actions, exhibitions and/or publications will be discussed during workshops. - Outcome 3
The two events organised by Casa Asia will lead to an official publication which will reflect on the topics discussed and include articles by some of the keynote speakers. There is the possibility that articles and/or summaries of the outcomes of ASEFUAN Dialogues written by participants may be included.- ASEFUAN Dialogue on Climate Change and Sustainable Development ‘Minimums and Recommendations’ in Casa Asia / Casa África, 2010, Climate Change and Renewable Energies in Asia and Africa, pp 129-146, available at: http://www.casaasia.es/media/asset_publics/resources/000/

Participants are invited to think proactively about the ways in which the materials and interactions can/could be utilised after the event. ASEFUAN Dialogues encourages participants to form personally rewarding experiences and views the event as a platform for future collaboration between Asia and Europe.
